The Godey's Lady's Book was a popular monthly publication released from 1830 to 1898. The pages were filled with poems, stories, fashion patterns, and rules of rules. The skirts in this age were developed to be an ideal circle. They kept growing broader till it became hard for the women to pass through entrances or get into carriages. To keep these gowns outwards, there was an intricate series of crinoline hoops and supports beneath. Several maidservants had to get on stools to decrease these lavish gowns on the girl. - Each issue included hand-colored fashion plates. These delightful images such as "Bridal Finery," "Ladies in Waiting," and "Children's Fashions," awaken your fond memories. Our creative team took these illustrations from the original magazines and diligently restored them to their original splendor. - With just the click of a mouse, add Godey's Lady's Fashion concepts to treasured scrapbook pages, rubberstamping, paper crafts, artist trading cards, present tags, cards, and to lovingly handmade quilts.
